Xylem are looking for a mechanical design engineer to join one of their five R&D teams with the responsibility to maintain as well as develop Xylems current and future generations of small and medium-sized wastewater pumps. You will work closely with 10 colleagues who are both mechanical engineers and product owners.  

The team is responsible for managing existing product ranges as well as developing new product ranges. You will be part of an exciting journey with multiple new product development projects in the coming years.  

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Design new parts and products using Creo (3D CAD)
• Generation and implementation of technical product data
• Technical support for e.g. manufacturing at the main factory in Emmaboda 
• Handle special orders 
• Update existing 3D-parts and draws 
• Generate solutions to technical problems – both maintenance and development projects 
• Develop and test prototypes, both in the lab and in field.  

 
WHO ARE YOU? 
To succeed in this role, we believe that you are an analytical, logical and solution-oriented person, who thoroughly enjoys mechanics. You’re experienced in mechanical engineering. Despite enjoying independent work, you are also a team worker who is helpful and cares about your colleague's development as professionals. You won’t mind switching between simple and complex tasks.  

We also believe that you might have: 

• Civil engineer or similar higher education within mechanical engineering 
• Experience from mechancial engineering; machines and development 
• 3D CAD 
• English proficiency, both in speech and writing as it is the working languge 

It is advantageous if you have: 

• Experience in product development in the form of projects 
• Strong interest in structural engineering and design
• Experience from working in Creo
